Walmart has agreed to pay $10 million to resolve the settlement fees filed by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This accused scammers of using money transfer services to steal funds from customers and turning their eyes on fraudsters, the statement said in a June 20th.
The lawsuit against Walmart was filed by the FTC in June 2022 in US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. The FTC alleged in the lawsuit that Walmart “knows well” that fraudsters are using the company’s remittance service to “remit money to domestic and international fraud rings.”
