The CBP Home App would give illegal immigrants the ability to “leave now and self-deport” officials said.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) rolled out a new app on Monday that said it would promote self-denial of illegal immigrants.
On the first day of his presidency, President Donald Trump moved to stop one CBP app, saying Trump administration officials were used to promote illegal immigration to the United States.
“With the launch of the CBP Home App, we are restoring the integrity of our immigration system,” Noem said. “The CBP Home App offers aliens the option to leave now and self-define, so there may be an opportunity to legally return to America’s dreams in the future. If they don’t, we will find them, we will deport them, and they will never return.”
During his campaign and in office, Trump has pledged to deport record numbers of illegal immigrants while strengthening security along the US-Mexico border.
Later last month, DHS said it was creating a registry for all people in the United States illegally, and those who do not self-report could face fines and prosecutions.
All people illegally in the United States must register, give them fingerprints and provide an address, the DHS said in a statement. We cited the Immigration and Nationality section as justification for the registration process that applies to people over the age of 14.
According to the White House, “An order directed by the authorities to allow illegal foreigners to obtain cash or non-cash public interest and to take all appropriate measures consistent with applicable law to meet all appropriate measures to meet the purposes of this order and the requirements of applicable federal law.
Trump signed 10 executive orders on immigration on his first day in office. One included the termination of automatic citizenship for people born in the United States. The birthright citizenship order has been temporarily suspended in court.
The Epoch Times contacted DHS for additional comments but did not receive a response per publishing time.
