The Department of Justice has proposed rules to restore the second amendment rights for people who have been convicted of certain crimes but are “probably not likely to act in a way that is dangerous to public safety.”
The department filed the proposed rules on Friday in the Federal Register with regard to the exercise of the Attorney General’s powers under 18 USC 925(c) to grant relief to individuals who are prevented from owning firearms.
