Heading into Week 10’s game against the Chicago Bears, the New York Giants are 2-7 with a record of 2 wins and 7 losses. They are on a three-game losing streak. New York has been plagued by injuries at kicker during the 2025 season.
Veteran Graham Gano is in his 16th year as a pro and his sixth year with the Giants. Over the past three seasons, Gano has been continually sidelined due to injury, which has had a negative impact on the team. He has appeared in five of the team’s nine games to begin the 2025 season. Once again, Gano is dealing with a lingering injury. Head coach Brian Daboll told the media that Gano likely won’t play in Week 10. Younghoe Koo was promoted from the practice squad and is scheduled to kick in the game between the Giants and the Bears.

For the start of the 2025 season, Younghoe Koo was a member of the Atlanta Falcons. In Week 1, Atlanta had a close game against Tampa Bay. With six seconds left in the game, the Falcons were trailing 23-20. Younghoe Koo lined up for a 44-yard field goal and missed wide to the right. The 31-year-old was benched in Week 2. On September 19, 2025, Younghoe Koo was released by the Falcons.
Parker Romo replaced Koo as kicker. On November 4th, Romo was released from Atlanta. Younghoe Koo signed with the New York Giants’ practice squad on September 23, 2025. The Giants started kicker Jude McAtamny even though Graham Gano was out with an injury. He started for the Giants from Weeks 4 to 7. McAtamny missed several extra points in New York’s 33-32 loss in Week 7.

He was released by the Giants and Graham Gano was healthy enough to return in Weeks 8 and 9. However, the veteran kicker is currently suffering from a neck injury. Manager Brian Daboll announced that Gano would be out for Week 10. Younghoe Koo will be the Giants’ starting kicker. He hasn’t played in a game this season since Week 1 against the Falcons. Last season, Gu went 25-34 on field goal attempts.
It’s worth noting that kicking conditions will be less than ideal in Week 10 when the Giants travel to Chicago. Sunday’s high temperature will be 38 degrees with wind gusts reaching 20 to 30 mph. Additionally, there is a 38% chance of light snow. Given the weather conditions, both teams are expected to have kicking issues in Week 10.
