As we recently reported, the hotel’s loyalty program is not the old one. Not only does it highlight the cookie cutter collection of brand name properties, it currently includes a highly designed boutique hotel, an outdoor concentrated glamping pre-post base, and an attractive global portfolio filled with gorgeous full submissions. Aptly, many of the world’s most exciting new reopened hotels in 2025 participated in a bookable awards program using points, including a list of hotel openings worth planning for AFAR hotel openings.

As a specialist and point maximiser in the loyalty program, I create an annual list of new, notable hideaways that allow travelers to check in without paying their nightly rates in cash. These buzz-worthy hotels can be booked fully with points through the world’s leading loyalty programs. Certainly, from tent-equipped camping in Masai Mara in Kenya to jungle adventures in Costa Rica, it can offset the most expensive experiences. Of course, you need to sign up for the relevant rewards program and have some serious points, but for those accumulating Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and/or accor points, there are eight exciting 2025 hotel debuts here.

Andaz Miami Beach

Reservations available: The World of Hyatt Point
position: Miami Beach, Florida
opening: April 2025

Located in the historic building on the famous Collins Avenue, 287 Key Andaz Miami Beach leans against the city’s Art Deco legacy, with a defining curve in architectural style. Andaz also features an oceanfront pool and beach, as well as a vast four-floor spa with a terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and relaxation rooms, which will open in June. On the food and drink front, two on-site venues, Barcentro and Mediterranean-style Aguasal, are collaborative with world-renowned chef Jose Andre. Andaz Miami Beach is one of the best ways to redeem Hyatt Points in Sunshine State.

Lake Como Edition

Reservations available: Marriott Bonvoy Point
position: Lake Como in Italy
opening: Summer 2025

Set in a 19th century building on the west coast of Lake Como, the edition becomes the latest luxury lifestyle property of Italian Marriott. Opening this summer, Lake Como Edition will offer 145 rooms (including two penthouse suites), a lobby bar, a floating pool and a variety of venues. Pre-dinner drink Or dinner. The region has a significant share of high-end boutique properties, but until now there are few point hotels that belong to major hotel groups along the lake.

Hotel Delcoronado

Reservations available: Hilton’s Honor Points
position: Coronado, California
opening: Please open it now

Originally built in 1888, the 938-room Hotel Del Coronado was a destination in Southern California along the Pacific Ocean. It goes through the final stages of a monumental six-year, $550 million reimagining set to be completed by June 2025. Think of “Del” as one five hotel. This spring, the hotel is welcoming a veranda with a new signature all-day dining concept, along with the new Nobu del Coronado.

Nekajui, Ritz-Carlton Reserve

Reservations available: Marriott Bonvoy Point
position: Peninsula support, Costa Rica
opening: Please open it now

Located in a 1,400-acre private oasis in the Guanacaste region of Costa Rica, Necajui is a collection of 107 ocean-facing rooms and suites, and three luxurious treetop tents. All accommodations combine indoor and outdoor life with garden showers, private plunge pools and deep bathtubs in a jungle-like environment. For ultimate exclusivity, Villa Guayacan is a 10-bedroom retreat set in an astonishing natural background. Everything is now accessible thanks to the ability to book using Marriott Bonvoy Points.

I recently reviewed something like staying at Nekajui in the Ritz-Carlton Reserve.

Orient Express Laminerva

Reservations available: Accor Live Infinite Points
position: Rome, Italy
opening: Please open it now

Historically, the Orient Express was well known for its luxurious trains (and in fact, the Ladolce Vita Orient Express, which debuted in Italy again this year). However, Accor’s recent acquisition of iconic brand names means expanding into other types of attractive overnight accommodation. Opening this spring, Orient Express Laminerva is just minutes from the Roman Pantheon of Palazzo in the 17th century, and has 93 rooms (36 of which are suites). Better yet, for Accor’s affiliation, experienced travelers can use Accor Live’s infinite points to book at an oasis in the city.

You can read recent reviews to find out you are staying at Orient Express La Minerva.

Park Hyatt Tokyo

Reservations available: The World of Hyatt Point
position: Tokyo, Japan
opening: October 2025

Built in 1994 as Japan’s first luxury hotel in western, Park Hyatt Tokyo will resume this fall with guests after 17 months of transformation from top to bottom. The iconic fortune that starred in the 2003 film Lost in translation, Featuring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson, it includes refreshed rooms and suites (including new categories with points) while paying homage to the original design. One venue that I will definitely return to is the complete restoration of the New York Grill & Bar on the 52nd floor with floor-to-ceiling views overlooking Tokyo. Park Hyatt Tokyo collaborated with Paris-based design company Studio Jouin Manku on the project (known for its major renovation of Marrakech’s La Mamounia).

Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara Safari Camp

Reservations available: Marriott Bonvoy Point
position: Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya
opening: August 2025

Marriott’s upcoming marquee project, Kenya’s Ritz-Carlton, Masai Mara, is a prime example of a hospitality company that is leaning towards outdoor luxury. Opening in August, guests can expect a vast tent suite with a private infinity plunge pool, a restaurant with a stargazing deck and, of course, a game drive in the National Reserve. This is the first luxurious safari camp for the Ritz-Carlton brand, and will be the second in the Marriott portfolio after the opening of the 2023 JW Marriott Masai Mara Lodge. In fact, the Bonvoy program will win yet another Safari property in 2026: the JW Marriott Mount Kenya Rhino Reserve Safari Camp.

Waldorf Astoria New York

Reservations available: Hilton’s Honor Points
position: New York, New York
opening: Fall 2025

After eight years of renovation, the legendary Waldorf Astoria New York will rejoin the Hilton lineup when it reopens in the second half of 2025. This is not only one of the most anticipated points of the hotel’s debut, but it is also one of the biggest reopenings of recent memories. The property is a New York City Association fixture and has been meticulously restored by renowned architects of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in Pierre Yves Rocon’s interior design. Expect an original Art Deco architecture reimagined with fresh modern furniture. Instead of 1,400 rooms, the facility will be reduced to 375 hotel rooms, about 20% of which will be suites and 375 private property.
