The Orlando Dreamers have made a noticeable amount of noise as the group appears to bring MLB action to Orlando for the first time in history, allowing you to know everything about the plans below:

What is Orlando Dreamers?

At the moment, Major League Baseball currently has 30 teams, divided into two main divisions known as the American League and the National League.

The MLB team is known all over the world. The New York Yankees, LA Dodgers, and Boston Red Sox are the biggest names of all sports.

In 2025, each MLB franchise earned an average of around $407 million from various paths.

MLB players are also some of the most rewarded aslets in the sport, with the likes of Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto making more than $50 million a year, making them the highest wage players in MLB.

The Orlando Dreamers first won the headline in 2019 as it was announced that officials were aiming to bring professional baseball to Central Florida.

Pat Williams, who was able to magically bring the NBA to Orlando in 1989, has begun his goal in 2019 to create an MLB franchise called the Orlando Dreamers, and continues to promote its introduction.

Essentially, MLB confirmed that the league will add two more cities in the future, and Williams decided Orlando should be one of these selected areas. So he began building groups and gained support from around town.

Unfortunately, Pat Williams passed away in July 2024, but his first petition to gain support from Orlando reached 15,000 signatures within a month.

What are the plans for the Orlando Dreamers?

As mentioned earlier, the comprehensive aim for the Orlando Dreamers is to bring Major League Baseball into town and have access to the highest possible level of baseball.

To do so, the Orlando Dreamers will need to either get their current MLB franchise or host their side by getting an expansion slot from the league.

At this moment, the current franchise acquisition appears most likely, with Orlando currently having an early talk with the Tampa Bay Rays. This means moving to Orlando.

In addition to this, the dreamers are preparing to build a 45,000 capacity stadium near the International Drive and create a modern stadium.

The stadium is said to host the possible MLB side and provide over 25,000 jobs to those living in the US, but has projected over $40 billion into the economy over 30 years.

Who is investing in the Orlando Dreamers Plan?

At this moment, Orlando Dreamers is said to have raised about $1.5 billion in funding from support from wealthy investors and the community.

Many names from the baseball world are said to have invested in the idea, and Dr. Rick Workman is called “anchou investor” at this point.

Workman has invested heavily in the idea and has produced a large portion of his wealth through Heartland Dental, the largest dental management organization in America that he founded.

Along with Workman, John Morgan is said to have invested $250 million worth of the Orlando Dreamers, and his financial support comes from the Morgan & Morgan law firm.

Have you ever had an MLB team from Orlando?

No, there was no major league baseball franchise based in Orlando, as Florida currently has two MLB sides, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Miami Marlins.

The Miami Marlins have a richer history than the Tampa Bay Rays and are two MLB World Series winners (1997 & 2003), but this ray has been a stronger aspect for several years.
