Walmart is listing a recent Google TV/clever speaker “Pro” streaming kit every week. after the product made its way into the real world and sporadically appeared on the store’s website.
The recent Onn 4K Pro which costs $49.88has recent features including a built-in Google Assistant clever speaker, Dolby Vision plus Atmos, HDR, and a remote with a enormous blue “Free TV” button that subtly points to Google FAST channels, and a customizable star button that you can exploit to launch an app or change the TV input.
The square black set-top box can’t be hidden in an entertainment center – it houses a microphone and works like a Nest Mini with Google Assistant. You can ask Onn 4K Pro to play a YouTube video, turn on the lights in your clever home, and more, all hands-free. It also looks like a Nest Mini with a built-in mesh cover and a row of four LEDs.
While the Onn 4K Pro isn’t made by Google, it certainly seems like a successor to the $49.99 model Chromecast with Google TVwhich was launched in 2020. In comparison, the Onn 4K Pro offers more versatile connectivity using Wi-Fi 6 and Ethernet, while the Chromecast only has Wi-Fi 5. The Onn also has more RAM (3GB vs. 2GB), has more internal storage ( 32GB vs. 8GB) and lets you call out “Hey Google” without having to hold the remote – all for the same price.
