In the third and final T20I between Bangladesh and USA in Dallas, Mustafizur Rahman put in a phenomenal performance, taking a career-best score of 6 for 10, which marked the first time a Bangladeshi bowler had taken six wickets in a T20I. This remarkable feat contributed significantly to restricting the USA to a modest total of 104 for 9.
Bangladesh’s victory was further cemented by the unbeaten century partnership between Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar. The duo’s 108-run partnership in just 11.5 overs secured an emphatic ten-wicket win for Bangladesh, reducing the series lead to 2-1 in favor of the US.
Rishad Hossain along with Mustafizur also played a key role in Bangladesh’s victory by delivering a brilliant bowling performance, conceding only seven runs in his four overs and taking a crucial wicket. Notably, this spell marked Bangladesh’s most economical T20I bowling performance with at least four overs.
Before these outstanding performances, Shakib Al Hasan achieved a significant milestone by becoming the 17th cricketer to take 700 international wickets. Notably, Shakib achieved this feat with over 14,000 runs to his name, making him the first cricketer to achieve this milestone with such an impressive batting record.
Even though the USA rested four first-choice players, they started aggressively, with Shayan Jahangir and Andries Gous providing a phenomenal start. However, the Bangladeshi bowlers, led by Mustafizur, gradually tightened the screws, limiting the USA’s chances of scoring runs.
In response, Bangladesh batsmen, especially Tanzid Hasan and Soumya Sarkar, dominated the US bowlers, with Tanzid reaching his third T20I fifty and Soumya providing crucial support with an unbeaten 43 off 28 balls. Their partnership, which included some impressive stroke play and timely boundaries, sealed Bangladesh’s comprehensive victory.
Overall, Bangladesh’s stellar bowling performance, highlighted by Mustafizur’s six-wicket haul and a dominant batting display, led by a century partnership between Tanzid and Soumya, ensured a memorable victory in the final T20I clash against the USA.
Bangladesh will face India in a warm-up match on June 1.
