Every spring, United Airlines often announces new routes to destinations under the radar. It has become a tradition of sorts.
On Wednesday, Carrier added three more cities to its global network. Other US airlines will not fly to them. The first locale has been bustling in recent months thanks to the latest season of HBO’s hit series White lotus. The other is Southeast Asia’s vibrant, cultural and emerging financial hub. The third destination is known for its rich wildlife and fantastic Australian wines.
In addition to pinning new additions to the map, United will also add a second daily flight between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Manila’s Ninoiaquino International Airport (MNL).
With these new routes, United will offer flights from the US to 32 cities in the Asia-Pacific region. There’s everything you need to know about United’s plans that began this fall.
Adelaide, Australia
Starting December 11, 2025, United will launch seasonal services three times a week from SFO to Adelaide Airport (ADL) in South Australia with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
United will be the first carrier to offer non-stop flights from the US to Adelaide. This route complements existing services from the US to three other Australian cities: Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
What to do and where to stay in Adelaide
In Adelaide, travelers can escape the cold of the Northern Hemisphere, visit prominent wine regions such as the Barossa Valley and McLarenvale, or experience the natural beauty of Kangaroo Island (experience the natural beauty of wild dolphins, Echidnas, kangaroos and sea lions). For accommodation, there are luxurious facilities such as EOS by Skycity overlooking the city’s riverbanks. Alternatively, check out the gorgeous Sofitel in the East End for views of Adelaide’s hills.
Bangkok, Thailand
Starting October 26, 2025, United will begin daily service from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Bangkok’s Suvarnabumi Airport (BKK) at the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. This fifth Friedom flight is not nonstop from the US, but United will retain its distinction as the only American airline offering flights to Bangkok with its seamless one-stop connection from SFO and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
What to do and where to stay in Bangkok
Baskok, the capital of Thailand, is a east feast of the senses and is one of the enormous Asian magnitudes. Upon arrival, visitors can break the jet lag by stumbling from street food vendors along the Back Alleyway to a fashionable rooftop bar along the Chao Phraya River.
One of the world’s largest weekend bazaars, the vast Chatuchak Weekend Market is a must-see for shopping, as you can find everything from your home products in thousands of food stalls. And one of the oldest and most vibrant regions in the city, Chinatown known as Yaowarat (also featured in the latest season) White lotus).
The luxurious hotel is Bangkok’s finest rule, from Bangkok’s lush greenery and riverside views to the newly opened Aman Nai Lehrt. All major international brands are also represented. Favorites include the standard Bangkok, now part of the Hyatt, and the Siam Kempinski Hotel.
Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam
Starting October 26, 2025, United will begin daily service from HKG to Suntan Son NHAT International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. Like the new BKK service, United will be the only US carrier to offer flights to Ho Chi Minh City, with SFO and LAX built-in one-stop connections.

Still a historic name, Ho Chi Minh City is often mentioned as a historic name. Nguyen Hue Street, a pedestrian boulevard that stretches to the Saigon River, is the heart of the city and is home to plenty of bars, restaurants and bustling nightclubs.
Nearby, travelers will find large attractions such as Notre Dame Cathedral and the War Remnants Museum. Top hotels in the city include Hyatt Saigon and Levy Saigon.
