It’s like telling people to fasten their seat belts. It’s melancholy that this is happening Still people need to be reminded that they shouldn’t drive drunk. Maybe it’s time we started getting some more solemn about how we remind people. Like showing them the stupid near-death experiences that can happen when that happens – like the recent head-on accident in Michigan that involved two drunk drivers.
Detroit news reports that on May 5, two drunk drivers crashed head-on on Interstate 696 in Madison Heights, Michigan. The tragedy began around 4:30 a.m. local time. Authorities report they have begun receiving multiple 911 calls about a wrong-way driver on the interstate. It ended up being a Chrysler 300 heading east.
At the same time, a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling in the opposite direction on the interstate. A low time later, both the 300 and the Grand Cherokee collided head-on.
Authorities say, surprisingly, both drivers suffered only minor injuries. However, it was immediately suspected that both drivers were drunk.
Authorities obtained warrants for both drivers to have blood drawn at the hospital. After receiving the results, it was clear: both drivers were drunk and both would be punished.
What is disturbing is that not only both drivers were driving under the influence of alcohol during the weekend. IN statementMichigan State Police Trooper Lt. Mike Shaw said his troopers arrested more than a dozen people on suspicion of driving under the influence.
“There are many options available to aid you avoid falling behind the wheel,” Shaw said. So again, Please don’t drive drunk. It’s stupid and risky.
