WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump told a crowd of college baseball players and their families at the White House on Oct. 20 that he hoped for a swift resolution to the nearly month-long government shutdown.
President Trump said, “The vote will come soon,” indicating that he believes a breakthrough in negotiations with Democratic representatives is close. “I’m hearing that they’re starting to feel like they have to do the right thing for the country, and they will.”
