Following the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by U.S. forces this morning, President Donald Trump said on January 3 that the United States would govern Venezuela until a peaceful transition of power is completed.
“We’re going to run the country until we can have a safe, proper and wise transition of power, and that’s why we don’t want to be involved with anybody else coming in,” Trump said at a press conference.
