Toyota Innova Hycross Hybrid ZX and ZX(O) Bookings Temporarily Suspended: Here’s Why

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has launched Toyota Innova Hycross in December 2022. Since then, the minivan has become a success and is in huge demand in the Indian market. The company temporarily stopped production reservations for top-of-the-line ZX and ZX(O) models hybrid variants in April 2023, which resumed a year later in April 2024, and once again just after a month, Toyota temporarily suspended reservations for top class hybrid variants.

Reservations have been suspended due to the prolonged waiting period. The waiting time for the top-spec hybrid variants, it is close to 15 months and bookings are expected to reopen once the waiting period for these variants expires. However, interested customers can still book the mid-spec VX and VX (O) hybrid and the booking amount is Rs 50,000. The waiting time for these two variants is also almost 3 months.

In other news, the company recently launched the Toyota Innova Hycross GX(O) variant at prices starting from Rs 20.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This up-to-date GX(O) variant will be available in a non-hybrid version. The up-to-date variant will be offered in a higher trim than the GX, costs Rs 1 lakh more than the GX variant and will be offered in both 7-seater and 8-seater variants. For an additional lakh, this up-to-date variant offers features like 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, dual-tone interior, automatic climate control, automatic rear blower adjustment, dual-tone seats, soft-touch dashboard, LED front fog lights, folding rear sunshade (seven-seat version only), 360-degree camera and front parking sensors.

The petrol version of the Innova Hycross GX (O) is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 173 PS of power and 209 Nm of torque. Only occurs in combination with CVT automatic transmission which transmits power to the front wheels. The Hycross is also offered with a powerful 2.0-litre hybrid petrol engine that produces a combined power of 184PS and is equipped with an e-Drive gearbox.
