Three Washington Commanders players suffered a season-ending injury in Week 9

In Week 9, the Washington Commanders played at home against the Seattle Seahawks. By halftime, the game was 31-7, and the managers’ defense struggled mightily.

Seattle led 28-0 until Washington answered with a touchdown. The final score was 38-14, making the 2025 Commanders 3-6. That’s more than they lost in the entire 2024 regular season. In the game against the Seahawks at SNF, three players on the Commanders’ roster suffered season-ending injuries. That includes Jaden Daniels, Luke McCaffrey and Marshon Lattimore.

Washington suffered three major injuries in Week 9 against Seattle.

The coaches, who finished 12-5 in 2024, took a big step back in 2025. The main reason for this was that the team suffered multiple injuries on offense. In Week 2 against the Packers, veteran running back Austin Ekeler suffered a season-ending Achilles tendon tear. Additionally, WR Noah Brown suffered a groin injury and has been on IR since then. In addition, WR Terry McLaurin has missed five games this season due to injury. Not ideal for a commander.

Not to mention that 2024 Rookie of the Year Jaden Daniels has missed three games this season due to injury. In Week 9 against the Seahawks, the Commanders’ 2025 campaign fell apart. The Commanders were down 38-7 in the fourth quarter, but Jaden Daniels was still in the game. Daniels dislocated his elbow and had to leave the match. Media members and fans were left wondering why head coach Dan Quinn still had his Pro Bowl QB in the game.

Since the start of the regular season, 17 Commanders players have suffered injuries that have caused them to miss or miss out on playing time. Thirteen of these players were in the starting lineup at the time of the injury.

Jaden Daniels is expected to miss much of the remainder of the 2025 season. The manager still has eight games left. Marcus Mariota will start for Washington while Daniels is out. During SNF’s opening kickoff in Week 9, Commanders receiver/kick returner Luke McCaffrey suffered a broken collarbone. It was another devastating loss for Washington offensively.

McCaffrey will finish the year with 11 catches, 203 receiving yards and three touchdowns. In 2025, he returned 26 kicks for 769 yards. Coach CB Marshon Lattimore suffered a torn ACL in Week 9 against the Seahawks. Lattimore took a step back in his production. But he’s one of the top cornerbacks in a weak Commanders secondary. Losing Lattimore for the rest of the season is a huge blow. What will Washington’s record be by the end of 2025?
