Awards nights like the Oscars and Golden Globes provide plenty of star-studded moments, but there’s no denying that the Met Gala is the most star-studded date of the year – a reputation the event has maintained again this year. The guest list for the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” bash included plenty of red carpet appearances from a variety of Met veterans, including Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, as well as other lesser-known couples like Dove Cameron and Damiano David. Although each couple interpreted the “Garden of Time” dress code with varying degrees of realism, they all had one thing in common: their outfits were incredibly striking.
Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes made their first appearance at the Met, side by side, on opposing teams. The ballerini stayed true to the theme in a Michael Kors mesh gown with floral patterns and some eye-catching cutouts, and External Banks the star went a more moody route in a black sequined suit. And then there were Union and Wade, who continued their Met style streak with ocean-inspired designs. Wade Versace’s lavender tuxedo was coordinated with his wife’s mermaid-inspired moment courtesy of Marc Jacobs and embellished with hundreds of fish-scale sequins – a tribute to the exhibition’s focus on designs inspired by “land, sea and sky.”
And that’s not all. Some couples even chose the same designer (wait until you see Cameron and David Diesel’s numbers). Keep scrolling to see close-ups of all the celebrity couples who attended the 2024 Met Gala, and stay tuned to TZR for more updates on these duos’ after-party appearances.
