Curious about the next Mini Cooper JCW? Well, here’s a great teaser, as Mini has just dropped a set of photos showing him in racing gear and wearing a slender layer of camouflage. We’ve already seen an electric version of the two-door Mini hardtop from John Cooper Works, but this is a gas-powered variant.
Many of the design elements we see here, such as the grille, lower front side air vents, rear bumper and more, are expected to make their way to the production car, which Mini says will be unveiled this fall. The grille may be novel, but it looks very similar to the front end we saw on the outgoing Mini Cooper JCW. That said, it adopts the novel shape and minimalist vibe from the 2025 Mini that we’ve seen in less sporty variants. The rear end, including the taillights, is what we expect from a production car, although the rear diffuser shouldn’t be as aggressive.
The particular car you’re looking at is covered in red and white camouflage, in homage to the red and white color schemes used in the 1960s for Mini motorsports. It also features a “37” logo commemorating the victory of the Mini Cooper S (car with the number 37) in the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally.
We still don’t know the specs, but since the Mini no longer has manual transmissions, you can expect the JCW to come with an automatic gearbox paired with an improved version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the previous model. It should also have a sportier version of the interior, which we have already seen in the novel Cooper. Full details will be shared before the end of the year, but for now, enjoy these photos as a preview of what’s to come.
