“DPIIT has also proactively reached out to over a hundred gigantic corporations, industry and veteran associations, and unicorns to highlight the importance of creating manufacturing incubators and the benefits of actively collaborating with manufacturing startups,” DPIIT said in a statement.
According to the statement, production-oriented incubators are one of the most vital support factors for startups as they provide the necessary pilot, scale-up and production facilities that can provide plug and play options for product startups, reducing the burden of high-capex investments investment.
The center has already been established by the National Council for Cement and Building Materials.
“These incubators… also act as an interface between start-ups and mid- to large-scale companies, providing access to pilot facilities for manufacturing, test beds, design centers, prototyping facilities, and facilitating technology management, market access and venture capital.” DPIIT said.
Eligible entities can also explore the possibilities of availing benefits provided to incubators or incubator programs under government initiatives such as the Startup India initiative, Atal Incubation Centers (AIC), National Innovation Development and Harnessing Initiative (NIDHI), Technology Incubation and Entrepreneur Development (TIDE), the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), and Innovations for Defense Excellence (iDEX).
