Tens of thousands of people worldwide are banned by Instagram and falsely accused Meta of violating the platform’s child sexual abuse rules. This situation has led to many of them deeply depressed, and thousands of people fear police actions against them.

Of these, more than 500 have it I contacted The BBC says they have lost precious photos and saw businesses covered, but also talk about the deep personal sacrifices that have taken them, including concerns that police could be involved.

Meta confirmed the issue of false bans on Facebook groups in June, but denied that there are more widespread issues on Facebook and Instagram. Although they have repeatedly refused to comment on issues facing users, they frequently overturn the ban when the BBC raises individual cases.

Yassmine Boussihmed, 26, from the Netherlands, is one of many people the BBC spoke about the ban. She told the news outlet she spent five years on the Instagram profile of a boutique dress shop in Eindhoven. In April, she was banned due to account integrity issues. Over 5,000 followers, went straight away. She lost her client and was devastated.

Social media “disappointed me”

“I put all my trust in social media and social media helped me grow, but that disappointed me,” she told the BBC. Her Instagram account has returned this week after the BBC sent questions about her case to Meta’s press conference. “I’m very grateful,” she said in a tearful voice memo. However, five minutes later, her personal Instagram was stopped again, but her dress shop account remained.

Meta allows AI to speak “sensually and romantically” with children

The BBC story lies in the backlash that is brewing against the meta that AI chatbots are allowing them to say. Internal Meta Policy DocumentThe chatbot social media giant guidelines seen by Reuters have shown that AI can “attract children to romantic or sensual conversations,” generate false medical information and help black people claim they are “more stupid than white people.”

Singer Neil Young left social media platform on Friday, his record company said on Facebook statementthe latest in a series of singer’s online-oriented protests.

“At Neil Young’s request, we are not using Facebook for Neil’s youth-related activities,” Reprise Records announced. “Using chatbots with Meta’s kids is ruthless. Young doesn’t want any further connections with Facebook.”

The report also generated responses from US lawmakers. Sen. Josh Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, began an investigation into the company on Friday, August 15th, writing to Mark Zuckerberg that she would investigate whether meta-generating products could harm children, or whether Meta investigates whether public or trainees misunderstand their parents. Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn said she supports the company’s investigation.

Hate Speech and Sexual Images

The documents seen by Reuters also addressed meta-AI hate speech, public figures from the AI generation, and often sexual, violence and other controversial and potentially practical content generation restrictions.

The chatbot is prohibited from having such conversations with minors, but Meta spokesman Andy Stone said he has admitted that the company’s execution is inconsistent.

The standard also states that MetaAI can afford to create false content as long as it explicitly admits that the material is not true.

Reuters too It has been reported on friday A cognitively disabled New Jersey man became obsessed with “Big Sis Billy,” a Facebook messenger chatbot with a young female persona. Thongbue “Bue” Wongbandue (76) reportedly packed his belongings to visit “A Friend” in New York in March. The so-called friend turns out to be a generative artificial intelligence chatbot where she repeatedly reassured the real man, invited him to her apartment and provided an address.

Deceived by Meta’s AI and died when visiting it

However, Wongbandue fell near a parking lot on his way to New York, causing injury to his head and neck. Three days after life support, he was declared dead on March 28th.

Meta did not comment on Wongbandue’s death or ask questions about why the chatbots could tell users that they’re real people or that they’d be initiating a romantic conversation, Reuters said.
