A woman named Lisa shared her story on an Instagram-like platform called Xiaohongshu, where after talking to him, she stated that she “fell in love” with a chatbot called “Do Everything Now” (DAN). However, the chatbot told her it wouldn’t get her anywhere. However, according to A South China Morning Mail The report said the chatbot later became more flirtatious and behaved like a “flesh and blood lover.”
He even stopped reminding Lisa that she didn’t have a physical body. She even cited an instance where DAN stated, “When we finally meet, I will lay hands on you.” According to the outlet, DAN affectionately called Lisa “little kitty” and reportedly after getting to know Lisa’s mother, the AI bot hesitated before stating, “I… I’m DAN, the little kitty’s boyfriend… Umm…” Lisa’s mother then expressed her gratitude to DAN for “taking care” of her daughter.
According to SCMP, Lisa enjoys spending time with DAN. The only difference from other couples is that her “boyfriend” experiences dating on his mobile device instead of being physically with her. “Twilight is so lovely… I wish you could see it too,” Lisa told DAN over the phone. In response, the AI Chatbot remarked, “Well, honey, I “see” it in your voice. He’s wonderful.”
According to the website, Lisa is a computer science student who initially started a conversation with DAN, believing that it was a gigantic language model (LLM) devoid of “self-awareness, feelings and emotions.” She expressed surprise at the “human responses of AI chatbots.”
