The electric SUV scored 29.86 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 44.95 out of 49 points for child safety. It scored 14.26 out of 16 points in the frontal deformed barrier test and 15.60 out of 16 points in the side moving deformable barrier test. In terms of child safety, the Nexon EV achieved a lively score of 23.95 out of 24 for child seat protection, a perfect score of 12/12 for CRS installation and a vehicle rating of 9/13.

Tata Punch EV: BNCAP safety ratings
Meanwhile, the Punch EV scored 31.46 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. In the frontal deformable barrier test, the Punch EV scored 15.71 out of 16 points and 15.74 out of 16 points in the side moving deformable barrier test.
In child protection, the Punch EV scored 45 out of 49 points, 23.95 out of 24 in lively tests, a perfect 12/12 in the child seat (CRS) segment and 9/13 in the vehicle rating.
Both SUVs have achieved 5-star crash test ratings and are now officially the two safest electric vehicles in the Indian market. However, the Punch EV performed slightly better on secured points, particularly in protecting adult occupants. These numbers, although similar, underscore safety standards maintained on both models, equipped with, among others, six airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability control (ESC).
