After Week 7 of the 2025 NFL season, the Buccaneers were headed to take on the Lions. For the year, Tampa Bay is averaging 24.9 points per game.
However, the Bucks’ offense struggled against the Lions’ defense. In the end, the team lost to Detroit 24-9, scoring one touchdown in MNF. Buccaneers WR Mike Evans suffered an unfortunate injury in the loss to the Lions. In addition to suffering a concussion, Evans also suffered a broken collarbone in Week 7. There is also hope that Mike Evans can return at some point in December.
Mike Evans suffered a broken collarbone in the Week 7 loss to the Lions.
If Mike Evans is sidelined from his regular schedule with this injury, his return would be in early to mid-December. There’s plenty of time before the playoffs. https://t.co/oruQHhvxlb

In Week 7’s MNF, Buccaneers WR Mike Evans returned after missing three games. He was suffering from a hamstring injury. Fortunately, Evans did not land on IR and was able to play against the Lions in Week 7. Evans’ return didn’t last very long. The 32-year-old suffered a concussion and a broken collarbone in the second quarter. Mike Evans had to be helped off the field by several trainers, visibly shaken.
The Pro Bowl WR finished the game with zero catches on four targets. Through four games in 2025, Mike Evans had 14 catches for 140 yards and one touchdown. If Evans misses any length of time this season, his streak of over 1,000 receiving yards will come to an end. He gained over 1,000 receiving yards in the first 11 seasons of his professional career. This streak ends in 2025.
Mike Evans Prayer.
This looked very scary.
Evans remained face down on the turf for some time, but has now been removed from the field to be attended to by medical personnel.

Despite losing to the Lions in the MNF, the Buccaneers are still 5-2. This is No. 1 in the NFC South through seven weeks. Tampa Bay’s offense will have to operate without Mike Evans for the foreseeable future. The Buccaneers played like that in his last three games before his return in Week 7.
One player the team is focusing on in 2025 is rookie WR Emeka Egbuka. He leads the Bucs with 54 catches for 527 yards and five receiving touchdowns. In Week 6, Egbuka left the game with a hamstring injury. However, he quickly bounced back and was available for Tampa Bay in Week 7. If Mike Evans doesn’t move forward, Egbuka will continue to be one of Baker Mayfield’s top targets.
