Stop-motion animation ‘Savages’ acquired for UK-Ireland theatrical distribution

Exclusive: MetFilm Distribution has won UK-Ireland rights for Claude Barras AVIt is scheduled to be released in a wide range of theatrical releases this summer on August 1st.

AV Last year it debuted as a special screening at Cannes. Before that, a festival run was held, including Annecy, Locarno and the BFI London Film Festival.

Set in Borneo, it follows Kelia’s adventures. And with her cousin Serai, she fights the planned destruction of their ancestors’ homes in the rainforest.

The film is a collaboration between Haut et Court and Brussels-based studio Panique by Nadasdy Film in Switzerland-French Belgia. Gebeka International and Anton handle international sales.

This film is the second feature of Swiss filmmaker Balas since 2016. My life as a zucchinidebuted at Cannes and advanced to Oscar nomination for Best Animation Features.
