Steven Kwan Facing Race Against Time For Cleveland Guardians Clash Against LA Angels After Injury Issue

Stephen Kwan was forced to be sent off early in the Cleveland Guardians’ victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers after suffering a wrist injury, and now he is questioning the upcoming match against the Los Angeles Angels.

Has Stephen Kwan been injured?

Stephen Kwan was a bright light, especially with it being a rather dim season for the Cleveland Guardian, particularly in relation to outfield performances.

So, when Kwan had to leave the action during the final series of Guardians, many were worried about what this meant for the Cleveland-based franchise in a clash with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Reports revealed that Kwan had to be retracted for “inflammatory right wrist” and ignored any signs of pain before the match.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a good run in the 2025 season, reaching 0.311/.371/.425 and boasting a .796 OPS so far, highlighting his importance to Cleveland.

At this moment, Kwan is the second-best batsman on the Guardians roster and sits right behind Jose Ramirez in Cleveland’s overall rankings.

The Guardians continued to win the final meeting with La Dodgers, but experienced a 2-1 series defeat to their Los Angeles counterpart.

This means the Guardians are sitting fourth in the American League and holding a record of 30-25. This is shared with two teams under the Minnesota Twins and the Houston Astros.

Will Stephen Kwan miss the Guardians and the Angels?

After facing the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kwan has no doubts about the series with another LA-based aspect as the Guardians take part in three game series with the Los Angeles Angels.

Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Voight is currently giving much needed updates on Kwan’s current injury situation, providing some positive news to his supporters.

Stephen Fogg said: “He had wrist discomfort so we didn’t want to take a chance. He felt it on his swing, and we have 48 hours until the next game.

“We felt it was the right call to get him out of there, but he should be better off going on Friday.”

Vogt expects Kwan to come back in time for a clash with Angels, giving Cleveland’s side a big boost to the opening game.

The Angels are now in miserable form, losing five consecutive matches, two against the Miami Marlins, and the final three being given to the New York Yankees.

Such a disappointing performance shows that the World Series winner has dropped to 12th in the American League, reaching a negative 25-30 record.

The final series meeting between the Guardians and the Angels came from April 4th to 6th. The Los Angeles-based team won a 2-1 overall victory at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.

Similarly, Mike Trout is fully recovering from injuries, so the Angels may not be without a star player through injuries, but this series could be too early for the ninth-highest paid player in MLB.
