Up-to-date Delhi: Kabir Bedi’s granddaughter Alaya F is basking in the glory of her latest release – Srikanth. The biopic on the life of Srikanth Bolla, a visually impaired industrialist and founder of Bollant Industries, has received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. Rajkummar played the titular role while Alaya played his on-screen wife Veera Swathi. Recently, legendary actor Kabir Bedi shared some great reviews about the film and his granddaughter.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Kabir Bedi talked about Srikanth and Alaya’s performance in this film. “Seeing my granddaughter on screen is always stimulating for me,” he said. “She is an extremely talented actress. One of my greatest joys in life was presenting her with the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actor for her role in the film ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’. She was brilliant then and she is also brilliant in ‘Srikanth’ It gives me immense pleasure. But also that “Srikanth” is one of the best films about blind and visually impaired people made in India. It’s an incredibly heartbreaking story.”
Recalling her journey as the third generation in the family to enter the film industry, he said: “As a grandfather, I am extremely proud of her. She has done some very crucial films, from ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’ to ‘Freddy’, ‘U Turn’, ‘Srikanth’ and the upcoming ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’. This variety of roles demonstrates her versatility and dedication.”
He continued, “Alaya has a natural acting talent that is innate and God-given. But apart from that, he works incredibly strenuous. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t participate in some form of training, whether it’s classes, gym sessions, working on scenes or preparing for auditions, she is an example to all newborn actors of what it takes to be successful today. “I have no doubt that she will prove to be one of the most talented and versatile actresses of her generation, of which I am of course very proud.”
