President Donald Trump wanted a ceasefire as a result of Friday’s summit in Alaska. Vladimir Putin hopes that Ukraine will hand over Donetsk and Luhansk as conditions to end the war, and Ukrainian Volodymia Zelensky has rejected demand. But Trump on Saturday insisted that Ukraine should sign a contract to end the war with Russia. “Russia is such a great force, and it’s not.”

Zelensky said he would meet Trump in Washington on Monday, but Kiev’s European allies welcomed Trump’s efforts, but vowed to support Ukraine and to step up sanctions against Russia.

Sources close to negotiations between Trump and Putin I said The AFP, which Putin demands “effectively that Ukraine leaves Donbas,” is a region made up of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of eastern Ukraine. “Trump tends to support that,” the source said. However, “The Ukrainian president refused to leave Donbas,” the source said.

Concessions to the demands of Russian invaders

The New York Times too Quote Two European officials who said Trump was in support of Putin’s plan said “not to try a ceasefire, but to end the war in Ukraine by giving away unconquered territory to Russian invaders.”

According to an AFP source, US officials said if Russia’s demands are met, “Putin will not continue to attack in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, so there will be a kind of freeze there.”

Drops his own plans and throws a bow at President Putin’s request

On Saturday morning, Trump also publicly dropped the plan for an immediate ceasefire he had defended for months and instead embraced Putin’s preferred path to end the war.

“It was decided by everything that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to end the war, and not just a ceasefire agreement that is often unbearable, but directly to a peace agreement.” It has been reported Previously by globalnewsphere.

In the meantime, and perhaps in response to Putin’s demands and Trump succumbing to them, the European leaders who make up the Willing Union are scheduled to hold a meeting on Sunday, August 17th.

The EU wants Ukraine’s rights to NATO

Co-chaired by Keir Starmer, France President Emmanuel Macron and German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz, the coalition aims to protect Ukraine’s peace agreement.

A statement from European leaders said “Ukraine must have iron-covered security guarantees,” and should not impose restrictions on the troops seeking NATO membership, as Russia is sought. According to To Reuters.

But in his remarks after the Alaska meeting, Putin showed little to ease his stance. Moscow repeatedly wanted the Kremlin shorthand for demands to denounce Ukraine, insisting that it would limit domestic politics and cram the path to NATO.

Some European politicians and commentators were struggling with the summit. “President Putin was treated with Trump and the red carpet, but Trump didn’t get anything,” Wolfgang Isinger, former German ambassador to Washington, posted on X. In the meantime, the war is furious as Russia and Ukraine conducted overnight air attacks, daily occurrences, and combat continued to be at the forefront.

Trump again “charm” by Putin

Tatiana Stanobaya, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Russian Eurasia Centre, said: “It appears Trump is currently shifting much of his responsibility to Kiev and Europe. She added that Trump was “evidently fascinated and impressed by his interlocutors.”
