As fighting between the two countries continues into the new year despite signs of movement in the US-led peace effort, Russia announced on January 1 that it would hand over to the US technical evidence showing that a Ukrainian drone strike earlier this week targeted one of President Vladimir Putin’s official residences.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that it has extracted and deciphered navigation data from a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that was shot down during what the Russian government claims was a large-scale attack by 91 long-range drones that targeted the presidential palace in the Novgorod region south of St. Petersburg.
