In a shocking update to the previous story, Nick Reiner, the 32-year-old son of legendary Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner, has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the deaths of Rob and his wife Michelle Reiner at their Brentwood mansion in Los Angeles. According to prison records, Nick Reiner is being held on bail of $4 million (approximately 3.4 million euros).
Rob and Michelle’s son arrested on murder charge
Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner were found dead in their home from what appeared to be stab wounds on Sunday afternoon, December 14th. While the investigation continues, online jail records confirm that Rob and Michelle’s son Nick was arrested at 5:04 a.m. Los Angeles local time (2:40 p.m. Spanish time) on Monday in connection with the murder. Nick is currently being held in the Los Angeles County Jail. It is unclear at this time what charges he will face. The investigation is said to be ongoing and the coroner’s office will formally confirm the cause of death.
Nick Reiner has long been vocal about his struggle with drug addiction, which began as a teenager. In a 2016 interview with People magazine, he said he spent weeks sleeping on the streets and was in and out of rehab for addiction treatment, which began when he was 15.
Police closed off the home and surrounding roads overnight Sunday into Monday as they investigated the crime scene.

Rob Reiner, who turned 78 in March, is an Oscar-nominated Hollywood director and actor known for his work directing films such as: when harry met sally, stay by my side, princess bride and good men. His wife, Michele Singer Reiner, 68, is an accomplished producer, actor, and photographer who collaborated with Reiner on many of his projects.
Prolific author Stephen King, former US president Barack Obama, musician Sir Elton John, film director Ron Howard and comedy star Ben Stiller are among the prominent figures who have paid tribute to the couple in light of the tragedy.
