Exclusive: Level 33 Entertainment acquired North American rights from the market at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Awakeninga psychological thriller starring Jared Harris, Juliet Stevenson, and Erin Doherty.
The second feature of BAFTA-nominated writer-director Virginia Gilbert follows a couple who react differently when a young woman who claims to be her missing daughter a decade ago shows up at the entrance. While her mother is overjoyed, her father suspects that the woman is not the one who claims she is.
Awakening It premiered at the Dublin International Film Festival in 2024 and opened in the UK through signature. Produced by Gilbert and Barry Castagnola of Smelt. Luset Walters and Harris of Little Light Film Productions served as executive producers.
Level 33 President and CEO Andreas Olabaria said the film “provides a thrilling story with outstanding performances from a talented cast.” Olavarria and Taryn Procsal negotiated a deal with Westend Films’ Sofia Neves and Maya Amsellem on behalf of the filmmakers.
