PUNE: Pune crime branch officials are drawing up plans to utilize cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools to “digitally reconstruct” the Porsche car accident in which a teenager hit two IT professionals to their untimely death in his lavish luxury car on the night of May 19.
A senior Pune police official said on Wednesday that the crime branch will utilize state-of-the-art artificial intelligence for a detailed “digital reconstruction” of the incident.
The official explained that a highly qualified cybersecurity expert will meticulously design a digital reconstruction of the crime scene using the power of advanced artificial intelligence-based software, and all crime scenario inputs will be meticulously entered into the software to create a digital representation of the crime scene.
“The complicated traffic patterns, the exact number of people present on the road, the Porsche’s stunning speed and a host of other key factors will be carefully taken into account during the comprehensive reconstruction of the crime scene. Since the accused is a minor, he cannot be physically taken to the scene. The invaluable information from the forensic department will also be incorporated seamlessly,” the official said.
Meanwhile, police officials also revealed that the Pune police have been inundated with three separate complaints against the father of a minor accused in different cases.
On Wednesday morning, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde personally called Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar to seek complete information on the matter.
Police said that in the blood sample manipulation case, Ajay Taware, who held the position of head of the forensic department at Sassoon Hospital and was allegedly involved in the exchange of blood samples, was uncooperative during interrogation.
“He persistently avoids probing questions from the crime department. “The police are urgently trying to unravel the mystery of the promise he made to manipulate the blood sample, whether it was a monetary incentive or some tempting item,” police said. .
Earlier, the Pune Police Crime Branch, which is spearheading the high-profile investigation, mercilessly continued interrogating two doctors arrested in connection with the case. The district court placed both doctors in police custody until May 30.
Pune police arrested doctors Ajay Taware, head of forensics and chief medical officer Srihari Halnor, and another employee Atul Ghatkamble.
The three were arrested for gross tampering with blood samples collected from the minor accused following the incident at Sassoon Hospital.
After investigating numerous media reports published that there was an exchange of phone calls between Ajay Tawar and MLA Tingre in the early morning hours of May 20 after the incident, a senior Pune police official confirmed that no call has been made between MLA Tingre and Dr Taware so far.
“During the investigation, we did not discover any records of conversations between these two people,” a police officer revealed on Tuesday.
“Pune Police is currently making relentless efforts to unravel the intricate details of who the blood samples were secretly exchanged with and is also trying to establish the financial trail of the case, including the exact amount of money Taware received or was promised to by the minor’s father. ”- they added.
Earlier, a Pune district court on Tuesday granted remand to the father and grandfather of the minor accused involved in the same case till May 31.
