Puka Nacua (ankle) is set to miss the Rams’ Week 7 matchup vs. the Jaguars

The Los Angeles Rams were on the road in Week 6 and faced the Baltimore Ravens. Matthew Stafford’s Rams defeated the Ravens 17-3, improving to 4-2 on the season.

During that win, WR Puka Nacua injured his ankle and played only 51% of the team’s offensive plays. Nacua jumped into the end zone for what would have been a touchdown. During that play, the young WR injured his ankle and had to leave the game. Puka Nacua tried to come back, but the Rams limited him in the second half. The 24-year-old is scheduled to miss the Rams’ Week 7 game against the Jaguars.

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is off to a strong start to the 2025 season. His 54 catches on 65 targets led the NFL through six games. Nacua also has 616 receiving yards to go with two receiving touchdowns. Unfortunately, the young WR injured his ankle in Week 6 against the Ravens. NFL insider Ian Rapoport said it’s “doubtful” Puka Nacua will play in Week 7 against the Jaguars.

However, the WR1 avoided major injury Sunday. Puka Nacua missed just one game for the Rams and could return in Week 9. The teams will receive a bye in Week 8 after playing in London in Week 7. Head coach Sean McVay described Puka Nacua as “day-to-day,” which is a positive sign moving forward.

If Puka Nacua can heal within two weeks, he will be back on track to play in Week 9 against the Saints. Nacua is a tough player, but the Rams aren’t going to rush him back. That’s especially true with the Week 8 bye. Los Angeles will need to look at the WR depth on the bench. Davante Adams will be the team’s WR1 while Puka Nuka is out. Adams is very comfortable in this role.

In addition, the team will rely on other pass catchers such as Jordan Whittington, Tyler Higbee and Xavier Smith. On Sunday in Week 7, Higbee had four catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. Overall, the offense struggled against the Ravens, scoring just 17 points. On top of that, Matthew Stafford passed for 181 yards and only one touchdown. The Rams will be able to rely more on their run game in Week 7 as Puka Nacua is scheduled to be out.
