Amidst all the hustle and bustle on the 2024 Met Gala red carpet, you probably missed the applause-worthy accents hidden in the outfits of your favorite fashion muse. Perhaps while you were admiring Zendaya’s Maison Margiela gown, her abstract hummingbird necklace crossed your mind. Or maybe you were too focused on Tyla’s sand-sculpted Balmain dress to appreciate the hourglass bag she carried. Perhaps the most inconspicuous accessory of the night turned out to be the most headline-worthy photo: Phoebe Dynevor’s engagement ring. On May 6 this year Bridgerton star used her second Met Gala appearance to quietly announce her engagement to producer Cameron Fuller, as well as debut her diamond of the season.
At the “Sleeping Beauties: Fashion Awakening” festival, Dynevor made a grave appearance in an airy, pale purple dress by Victoria Beckham (the atelier’s first original creation) with translucent floral drapes, a deep back and an elongated train. In addition to the stunning diamond earrings and matching tennis bracelet, falcon-shaped fashion enthusiasts were quick to notice the stunning up-to-date diamond This finger as she climbed the iconic steps. Dynevor made sure photographers captured her latest sparkler by posing with her left hand front and center – allowing her oval bezel engagement ring to grab all the attention.
Although exact personal details about the Dynevor rock are unknown, Jillian Sassone, founder of the San Diego-based jewelry house, Marrow is fine she says her ring appears to be a 2.5-3 carat oval diamond set in an elegant bezel. “We love the bezel ring because it feels state-of-the-art even though it has its roots in history (its origins date back to old Egypt and Rome),” Sassone tells TZR. “So despite their growing popularity, frames are an absolutely timeless option for any bride, especially Dynevor.” The frame design perfectly combines Dynevor’s penchant for creating elegant accessories and ultra-feminine gowns (see her Victoria Beckham ensemble). As for the oval cut, Sassone emphasizes that given the celebrity endorsement, it’s no surprise that Dynevor opted for this classic style. “We’ve seen oval diamonds become a celebrity favorite, with Blake Lively, Kourtney Kardashian, Hailey Bieber and more proving the versatility of the elongated oval ring.”
While we can only imagine which eminent designer will dress Dynevor for her wedding, her eye-catching engagement ring will certainly be with us in the sartorial industry until then.
