NEW YORK CITY – Mayor Eric Adams launched the November general election campaign at a June 26 press conference at City Hall on June 26, days after state Sen. Zoran Mamdani won the Democratic primary.
Adams, 64, was elected as a Democrat in 2021, but chose not to run in the Democratic primary amid his unpopularity among progressive voters resulting from the now-extended federal charges on bribery charges and his unpopularity stemming from the US Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) to allow foreigners on the city’s island.
