Nvidia is known for being the most valuable chip company in the world — and its reputation now tops the list of America’s most perceptible brands, according to a fresh study.
The chipmaker topped the ranking Axios Harris 2024 100 Pollwhich rates the reputations of the 100 “most memorable Americans” companies based on 20 years of Harris Poll research.
According to each respondent, pollsters first surveyed 6,273 Americans between January 16 and 27, 2024, to gauge awareness of companies that are “either leading or failing in society.” Based on these responses, the 100 “most perceptible” companies were selected. Then, in a second online survey conducted March 6-18 among 16,500 Americans, respondents were asked which of 100 brands they knew and then asked them to rate two of those companies in nine categories to calculate the rankings. The third stage involved asking another group of respondents a separate set of brand and policy-related questions in an online survey conducted from May 10-19.
Nvidia ranked in the top 10 in all categories, including first place in trajectory, culture, vision and growth. It was ranked second for products and services, fifth for character, sixth for citizenship, eighth for trust and tenth for ethics.
The chipmaker recently exceeded Wall Street expectations in its fiscal first quarter 2025 results. Nvidia announced record revenues of $26 billion — an raise of 262% compared to the previous year. The company’s revenue for the quarter ending April 28 was up 18% from the previous quarter’s revenue of $22 billion, also beating expectations.
The company’s Hopper chips, which are crucial for training and inferring some of the world’s most powerful artificial intelligence models, made Nvidia the first chipmaker to reach a market capitalization of $2 trillion in February, and the third most valuable company in the world in March.
