Now, the British startup led by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has released a beta version of Android 15, an upcoming update to Google’s operating system that is expected to arrive later this year. The first beta of Android 15 for the Nothing Phone 2 was made available to testers earlier this week via a forum entry in the Community of Nothing. This is the second device from the company to receive the Android 15 beta – Nothing Phone 2a users received access to the test version last week. Before updating to Android 15, users will need to ensure that their phone is running Nothing OS 2.5.5.
Nothing Phone 2 owners can download the Android 15 beta as an OTA update package, which means there is no need to connect the phone to a computer to install the beta update. It’s also worth noting that while you can roll back to Android 14, it’s impossible to do so without wiping your phone, which means you should back up all your data.
Nothing Phone 2 Android 15 Beta: How to Download
To install the Android 15 Nothing Phone 2 beta, you need to download one of the two beta update packages from the company’s website and save it to the phone’s built-in memory. It’s also worth reviewing the list of known issues with the first beta of Android 15 and making sure you’re not installing it on your primary device.
- Create a folder named Yes in the phone’s built-in memory.
- Copy the Android 15 2 beta update package to a file Yes file.

- Obtain Directly apply OTA from selected ones > APPROX to start installing the Android 15 beta package.

Known issues with Nothing Phone 2 running Android 15 Beta
While Nothing hasn’t said that developers and power users can install the latest Android 15 beta, there are a few known issues with the first Android 15 beta. For example, users are unable to register fingerprints after updating to Android 15.
Likewise, the face unlock feature will also be unavailable, which means you’ll have to enter your password every time you want to utilize your phone. Finally, widgets and pre-installed apps such as Nothing X, Weather, Launcher and Recorder are currently unavailable in beta.
