While some celebrity parents take their kids on all their major adventures, whether they’re sitting front row at a designer show or attending an awards night, others prefer to keep their kids completely out of the spotlight. Moreover, some stars give them the opportunity to join Hollywood when they grow up. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban took the latter approach for their two daughters, 15-year-old Sunday Rose and 13-year-old Faith Margaret, who just made their red carpet debut at the 49th AFI Life Achievement Awards Celebrating Nicole Kidman on 27 April. And no wonder the whole family was dressed neatly.
On Saturday night at the Dolby Theater, Kidman led her daughters out in a stunning custom Balenciaga gown covered in head-to-toe gold sequins — a perfect fit for the evening’s guest of honor. The Oscar winner let her statement gown take all the attention and opted for minimal accents, including black pointy pumps, silver diamond hoop earrings, a gold watch and a variety of mismatched diamond rings.
Shortly after taking a few solo shots, Kidman was joined by her husband, her sister Antonia, her niece Sybella Hawley, and, most notably, her daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. Both sisters wore Monique Lhuillier creations, but their final styles were completely different. For example, Sunday chose a floral silk gown from the brand’s spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection that featured a timeless sweetheart neckline and a thigh-high front slit. The 15-year-old added diamond drop earrings and several eye-catching rings. Next up was Faith, who styled a strapless red gown as per Monique Lhuillier’s ready-to-wear collection for Fall 2023. Like her mother, she also kept accessories to a minimum and opted for a gold chain necklace to complement her red carpet-ready outfit.
Kidman and Co. they certainly weren’t the only stars dressed to impress for this special evening. A long-time friend of the actor and Massive little lies Costar Reese Witherspoon was also in attendance. Before giving a heartfelt speech in honor of her friend, Legally Blonde the actor walked the red carpet in a tight black midi dress. Shortly after Witherspoon’s arrival, Naomi Watts made her grand entrance in a pale blue asymmetrical off-the-shoulder dress from Givechy, paired with white open-toe sandals and a matching handbag. And then there was Zoe Saldaña, who posed for photographers in a striking strapless slip dress from Victoria Beckham’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, embellished with a printed chain motif.
