Ticket information for Dublin’s first NFL game was announced as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings prepare to travel in person on September 28th.
The NFL confirmed that the date was entered in a pencil on Tuesday, June 17th to ensure that general sales tickets will be on sale next month.
Croke Park in Dublin will host the Maiden NFL Clash in Ireland. This is the headquarters of the nation’s largest sports arena and Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
The Steelers are designated home teams and the franchise retains deep roots with the Irish Island. Art Rooney II team president has a family from Newley in the county.
Art’s father, the late Dan M. Rooney, was the US ambassador to Ireland since 2009-12 and was co-founder of the Irish Fund Charity.
The Steelers are also one of two NFL teams that played for Ireland in 1997 in a preseason friendly with the Chicago Bears at Croke Park.
