‘Toxic’ starring Yash of KGF fame is one of the actor’s much-awaited films. According to reports, Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan was supposed to play the female role in the film. Now, the latest report says that Nayathara has replaced Kareena in this role. According to a Pinkvilla report, Toxic director Geethu Mohandas and actress Nayanthara are in talks for the role and have held multiple meetings for the film.
“Nayanthara has shown interest in doing Toxic and the logistics are currently being sorted out. She’s a well-drawn sister figure that fits her image as a powerful woman. “Nayanthara is impressed that Geethu Mohandas has written such a powerful character for a woman and it blends well with her vision,” Pinkvilla reported, quoting a source.
“Talks are ongoing and the team is working together to ensure logistics. If all goes well, the makers will have Nayanthara on board in two weeks,” the source added.
Earlier this week, reports about Kareena’s exit from the film were doing the rounds on the internet. According to a Pinkvilla report, Kareena left the film citing date issues. “Toxic has a powerful sibling theme and the role of the sister is very vital to the narrative, ensuring the presence of a leading star. The makers want to cast actresses present in Pan India in this role,” a source told the media portal.
For the uninitiated, a Toxic motion poster was released at the end of December last year. In this motion poster, Yash can be seen wearing a cowboy hat on his head, holding a cigarette in his mouth and carrying a gun on his shoulder. Although his face wasn’t clearly observable. This may have been done because the creators didn’t want his appearance to disappear from the film.
