Minda Corp partners with Taiwanese company HCMF for Make In India sunroofs: details

Minda Corporation, the flagship company of Spark Minda, has signed the pact TaiwanHSIN Chong Machinery Plant (HCMF) for improvement automotive sunroof i locking systems market in India. Through this collaboration, the duo aims to provide advanced sunroof and closure technologies to the Indian passenger vehicle market through localized manufacturing.It will be a 50-50 joint venture between both companies.
The partnership leverages HCMF’s knowledge and experience as a global leader in automotive sunroof and closing systems. The joint venture will focus on catering to the evolving consumer preferences in India where there is a demand for premium automotive features sunroofs significant growth is expected. As part of this project, among others: Minda company will leverage HCMF’s expertise as a global leader in automotive sunroof and closing systems.

As noted, demand for high-end automotive components such as sunroofs is expected to boost significantly as more consumers look to install a sunroof on their cars. In fact, due to the growing demand for this feature, automakers have started offering sunroofs even on entry-level SUVs and premium hatchbacks.
