CJ Enm, a leading South Korean entertainment company, has signed a three-year partnership with the Academy Museum of Film Museum to shine a spotlight on Asian cinemas in Hollywood.
The agreement begins with an exhibition dedicated to Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho, which opened on Sunday (March 23rd) at a museum in Los Angeles. CJ distributed Bong’s 2019 Oscar Award-winning feature Parasites.

For the next three years, the company will support the museum’s programme dedicated to various Asian creators.
On March 17th, the president of the Academy Museum Amy Homa and Chief Revenue Officer Jenny Garante visited Korea to visit CJ Enm facilities, including the virtual production stage at CJ ENM Studio Center in Paju and the Screenx Theatre on the 4th side of CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall. They also met with local creators to discuss ways to enhance collaboration with the Korean film industry.
The first initiative features Mickey 17 being released, showing builds of the Bonn area exhibitions and film screening series, which are also known to be the case. snowman, okja and the host Similarly Parasites. Focusing on the creative process and inspiration of filmmakers, it displays over 100 original items including storyboards, research materials, film posters, concept art, creature designs, props, on-set photography and more. The exhibition space also features a creative workspace filled with a variety of objects that have influenced Bonn’s films.
“We have worked tirelessly for 30 years to promote the value and status of Korean film,” a spokesperson for CJ Enm said. “Through this partnership, we hope to contribute to the successful global establishment of Asian creators who have both unique art and popular appeal.”
CJ vice-president Mikie Lee has been an advocate for the Academy Museum since joining the board of trustees in 2019. She served as Vice Chair of the Board and was recognized for her leadership and contributions at the Academy Museum Gala in 2022.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opened in 2021 and is the world’s largest museum dedicated to the arts, science and artists of filmmaking, houses over 13 million objects.
