It’s been six months since Kate Middleton made a public appearance, so her triumphant return to the Buckingham Palace balcony on June 15 for Trooping the Color was a joyful surprise. The Princess of Wales, who is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, chose a white Jenny Packham gown for the occasion. She styled it with a Philip Treacy hat, an Irish Guards brooch and white high-heeled pumps.
The last event Middleton attended was on Christmas Day, when she attended the morning service at Sandringham Church. Since then, the royal has remained understandably reserved. During the Trooping The Color Event, which marks the British ruler’s official birthday, Middleton made his first appearance in a horse-drawn carriage procession through London. She then appeared on said balcony to greet the crowd in the classic way along with the rest of the royal family.
In her June 14 speech, Middleton mentioned that she hopes to engage in more public appearances in the coming months, “but also knowing that I’m not out of the woods yet.”
He continues, “I am learning patience, especially in the face of uncertainty. I take each day as it comes, listen to my body, and allow myself to take this much-needed time to heal.
