After starting the 2025 season 0-7, the Jets won two straight games. That includes a 27-20 win at home against the Browns in Week 10. The Jets are currently 2-7.
Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson injured his knee in the second half of Sunday’s game against Cleveland. ESPN’s Rich Cimini reported that Wilson is expected to miss three to four weeks. The fourth-year pro will avoid surgery and rehabilitate himself before returning to the field. Garrett Wilson could return on Dec. 7 against the Dolphins if he misses exactly three games.
Jets’ Garrett Wilson expected to be out due to knee sprain
bad news for #Jets Offense: WR Garrett Wilson is expected to miss at least three to four weeks with a knee sprain, sources said. The good news is, there’s no surgery, just rehabilitation.

Garrett Wilson appeared in seven of the team’s nine games in the 2024 season. Garrett Wilson suffered a knee injury earlier this season. He missed Weeks 7 and 8 for the Jets and took another week off during the Week 9 bye. Garrett Wilson returned in Week 10 for New York’s home game against the Browns. The 25-year-old had no catches on three targets and had to end the game early.
Wilson suffered another injury to the same knee, forcing him to miss Weeks 7 and 8. He left the game in the second half and did not return to the Jets. As a team, New York gained just 54 total passing yards in the Week 10 victory. Running back Breece Hall caught a 42-yard touchdown from Fields in the fourth quarter.

Without Garrett Wilson, the New York Jets’ options at WR are extremely limited. The Jets have rookie receivers Arian Smith, Isiah Williams, Tyler Johnson, John Messi III and Adoni Mitchell. Tyler Johnson’s 10 catches for 87 yards are the second-most by a WR behind Garrett Wilson. Rookie tight end Mason Taylor ranks second on the team this season with 30 catches, 246 receiving yards, and one touchdown.
The Jets’ 143.8 passing yards per game in 2025 is by far the worst in the NFL. Justin Fields has started eight of the Jets’ nine games and is averaging 142.9 passing yards per game. This is the second-lowest total of his career behind the 2024 season with the Steelers. Passing the ball has never been Justin Fields’ strength. With Garrett Wilson set to miss time, it won’t be any easier moving forward. New York will face the 8-2 New England Patriots in Week 11.
