President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi spoke by phone on the evening of November 24, amid heightened tensions between Tokyo and China over Taiwan.
According to the Japan Times, after a phone conversation with President Trump on November 25, Takaichi told reporters, “President Trump briefly explained the recent status of U.S.-China relations,” but did not provide further details.
