Running through Josh Jacobs was spent the first five years of his professional career with the Raiders. Following the 2023 season, Las Vegas was reluctant to re-sign Jacobs in the long term.

He left to a free agency and signed with the Packers. It was a four-year, $48 million deal. The veteran RB was studying the Green Bay system in 2024, but still had one of his most productive seasons in the NFL. That’s why ESPN’s Rob Demovski said he believes Josh Jacobs can take a step forward in his second season with the Packers.

Ahead of the 2025 NFL season, ESPN ranked the top 100 players. The Packers have returned to 67th place on that list. The 2024 season was his first year with the Packers. Jacobs carried the ball 301 times with 1,329 rushing yards and a career-high 15 rushing touchdowns. ESPN’s Rob Demovsky pointed out that he started all 17 games in 2024 and is one of six running backs with over 300 carry.

In his first season with the Packers, Josh Jacobs made an explosive run-play of over 10 yards. In fact, he had 33 rushing over 10 yards in 2024. In addition to being a quality RB on the ground, Jacobs also contributed as a pass catcher. He scored 36 catches for 342 yards and one touchdown.

Packers RB Josh Jacobs mentioned how comfortable he feels in the Packers offense compared to this year in 2024. Last season, Jacobs was learning a brand new offense, but still achieved great success. Jacobs said the biggest difference was “I really don’t have to go there and think about it…I know most of what we’re doing.” Will the 27-year-old be able to give Green Bay more production in 2025?

Josh Jacobs is ready for another dominant season with the Packers. He has little competition in RB. Last year he started all 17 Green Bay games. Additionally, he played for 63% of the team’s offensive snaps. In his second season with the Raiders, Jacobs rushed for 1,653 yards. This was the most common in the NFL in 2022. Jacobs was named the first team All-Pro in RB. Green Bay hopes Jacobs can provide that level of production to the franchise. He has a contract with the Packers for another three years.
