Exclusive: Indiepix Films has won North American rights from more than films to Sala Margreteo Scal’s Toronto International Film Festival choice Tundra in me in.
Distributors plan limited theatrical releases and then roll out on streaming service IndiePix Unlimited on Amazon Channel and other figure platforms.
Tundra in me in It premiered at TIFF in 2023 and played Tromso International and Sydney Film Festivals last year. Rena relocates from Oslo with her son to Sapmi in the Arctic Circle, and after falling into a reindeer pastor, she triggers a strong reaction.
The film won the Best Costume at the 2024 Amanda Awards, the equivalent of the Norwegian Oscar, supporting actress Reisten Annick Vernmogaup and actress Berit Anne Oscarchemi.
Oscar was a reindeer pastor for 10 years before switching his career to filmmaking. Aaron Liberman, CEO of Indipix Films, said, “Sarah is a truly talented filmmaker, bringing us to a culture that brings us to parts of the world and experiences most of the experiences outside of Norway’s North Reach.”
