One of the biggest stories this offseason was the Bengals WR duo of Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Members of NFL media have speculated whether Cincinnati can sign long-term extensions for both players.
After years of negotiations for both Chase and Higgins, they signed with Bengal in the long term. It was important for the team to keep the WR duo intact for Joe Burrow. All three will play the height of their careers with Bengal.

The path to re-signing Ja’marr Chase and Tee Higgins was difficult for Bengal. It was different for both players. Prior to the 2024 season during training camp, Ja’marr Chase held a “hold-in.” He was with the team in practice, but he was not involved in the drill. Chase was about to negotiate a new extension before the 2024 season began. However, both sides did not reach a deal, but Chase still played in all 17 games.
His 127 catches for 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns were all new career-highs. Plus, Chase was the Triple Crown WR in 2024. He received the most catches, receptions and touchdowns. After a career-best season, the Bengals had no choice but to pay for the chase. The 25-year-old won a four-year, $161 million extension. His annual average (40.25) million makes him the highest-paid non-QB in the NFL.
His WR partner Tee Higgins won a four-year, $122 million extension this offseason. He was a franchise tagged by Cincinnati this offseason, but they managed to reach a long-term deal. Higgins played on the franchise tag in 2024. Despite injuries last season, Higgins still paid off on his second contract. Currently, Joe Burrow, Jammer Chase and Tee Higgins have signed long-term extensions with the Bengals. Can this team do another run to the Super Bowl?
