Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad to win their third IPL title in a lopsided final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, May 26. The Knight Riders finished a modest 114-man field to secure the title in the penultimate end of the scoring season.
Knight Riders bowlers demolished Sunrisers in the first innings, scoring the lowest score in the history of the IPL finals. They then chased the target within 11 overs with eight wickets in hand.
KKR substantial win prize money after IPL 2024 final
Team KKR won prize money worth a total of Rs 20 Cr for their victory over SRH in the summit clash. The total prize money for the teams remained at 46.5 Cr with the largest share going to KKR.
SRH, the runners-up, took home Rs 13 cr after an embarrassing defeat.
