Paltan team ended the IPL 2024 season on Friday after their final league match against Lucknow Super Giants, which means Pandya’s suspension will be in effect for the team’s first match next season.
“Hardik Pandya, captain of Mumbai Indians, has been fined after his team kept the pace too snail-paced during the IPL2024 match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai,” read the press release.
“As this was his team’s third offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct for Minimum Over Offenses, Pandya was fined Rs 30 lakh and banned from playing in the team’s next match,” it further said.
While this is not a indefinite rule, it is common practice for team management to cover these fines on behalf of the players.
