The announcement ended two weeks ago as talks continue in Doha to try to mediate the second phase of the Israeli Hama ceasefire.
In another statement, Husam Badran of Hamas reaffirmed that he said it was Hamas’ commitment to fully implementing the ceasefire contract at all stages, warning that Israel’s departure from the terms would return negotiations to regain negotiations.

Hamas hopes to begin negotiations on a more difficult second phase of the ceasefire. This will reveal the remaining hostages from Gaza, and the Israeli forces will withdraw from the strip forever.
Hamas’ invasion of Israel
The war in Gaza broke out on October 7, 2023, with over 1,100 people killed and about 250 returned to Gaza hostages in a Hamas-led attack on Israel.
Subsequent Israeli military operations destroyed many of the coastal enclaves. Gaza’s Hamaslan Health Ministry has brought the death toll in Palestine to more than 48,000. This is a number that does not distinguish between combatants and civilians.
The United Nations estimates that around 69% of all Gaza structures, including at least 245,000 homes, have been destroyed.
After weeks of loose negotiations mediated by the US and Qatar, Israel and Hamas, they agreed to a three-phase ceasefire agreement, the first six-week phase that began on January 19th.
Phase 1 saw Hamas release 33 Israeli hostages and even five non-contracted Thai nationals. In exchange, Israel released about 2,000 Palestinians from Israeli prisons.
Additionally, negotiations for phase 2, which was scheduled to run for six weeks, were to begin in phase 1 for two weeks, but they I’ll stay at Limbo.
