At its annual I/O developer event held in Mountain View, California, Google’s parent company, Alphabet, revealed its latest advances in using artificial intelligence (AI) technology in its various endeavors. CEO Sundar Pichai revealed that after an extensive period of public testing that began last year, the company will make AI previews available to all users in the United States this week.
The newly unveiled AI enhancements are intended to allow investors to gauge Alphabet’s progress in competing with rivals such as Microsoft and OpenAI to establish dominance in the burgeoning AI sector.
Among the updates announced, Google released improvements to Gemini Pro 1.5, which is designed to handle massive data sets. With token capacity increasing from 1 million to 2 million, the Gemini Pro model is now capable of processing massive amounts of text and video data, facilitating more detailed answers to sophisticated queries.
Moreover, Google revealed that the Pro model, ranging from lightning-fast sizes to 1 million tokens, will be available to subscribers of its Gemini Advanced service.
One standout feature, AI Reviews, uses generative artificial intelligence to connect information and answer sophisticated queries that lack uncomplicated answers on the Internet.
Moreover, in response to user comments, Google also announced the launch of Gemini 1.5 Flash, highlighting the need for applications with lower latency and better profitability.
This streamlined model prioritizes speed and resource efficiency when operating at scale, providing a faster option than its predecessor, the Gemini 1.5 Pro.
