Exclusive: Cologne-based distributor producer Rapid Eye Movies (REM) is expanding operations by launching its internal global sales division under the banner of Rapid Eye Movies International Distribution.
The first lineup includes the latest projects from Maverick Philippines filmmaker Cubun Rizal’s Mamisa: The Fantasy of Revengea hand-painted 35mm silent film made entirely using AI, about the fragmented colonial history of his country at the turn of the 20th century, and the latest two films by 93-year-old German director Alexander Cluge. Focusing on nearly 30 years of REM experience in the film release business, he said: “We understand the distribution of challenging films and know that film passions can bring about certain successes when they increase within a network of passionate people and distributors,” he said.
